Spaceship Craft
Spaceship Craft is a single-player game about building spaceships block by block and flying them through a galaxy at war. This policy explains, in plain language, what the game does and does not do with your information.
Spaceship Craft is an independent game ("we" and "us" mean its developer). This policy lives at https://spaceship-craft.com/privacy-policy.html.
We collect nothing about you. Spaceship Craft has no account, no login, no sign-up, no email and no name. We run no server for the game, and it sends us no statistics, analytics or crash reports. Your progress is saved on your phone only.
There are two exceptions, and both are Google's:
Everything about your game is saved locally, in the app's private storage on your phone: your ships and saved designs, credits, cargo, holdings, faction standing, forge materials, contracts, story progress and settings.
The save also holds a random pilot ID. The game creates it on your phone the first time you play, so that its records can tell your ships, drones and holdings apart from everyone else's in the galaxy. It is not linked to you, your device or your Google account, and it is never sent anywhere.
We cannot see any of this, and none of it is uploaded to us. Uninstalling the game or clearing its data permanently deletes your save, including any credits you bought. To keep a copy, use EXPORT SAVE (below) first.
If you have turned on Android's own device backup, Android may include the game's save in your device backup to your Google account. That backup is Google's service, it runs under your account, and we have no access to it.
Those files stay on your device unless you move or send them yourself. They contain your game progress and your random pilot ID, and nothing else about you. Anyone you give the file to can load your progress.
Nothing. The game has no analytics, no telemetry and no crash reporting of its own, and it makes no network requests of its own. It uses the internet only through Google's advertising and billing components, described below. Without a connection the game still plays; only ads and purchases are unavailable.
The app asks Android for these permissions: internet and network state (for ads and purchases), the advertising ID permission (for AdMob), and Google Play billing (for purchases). Google's ads component adds its own: Android's ad services permissions (advertising ID, attribution and topics), wake lock and foreground service. It does not ask for your location, contacts, camera, microphone, photos or phone calls, and it does not need storage access to export or import a save.
Spaceship Craft shows rewarded ads only. There are no banner ads and no ads that interrupt play. A rewarded ad plays only when you tap a button offering something for watching it, and it is always your choice.
To serve and measure those ads, the Google Mobile Ads SDK collects, according to Google's own disclosure:
Google uses this data for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention, and it is encrypted in transit. This data is collected by Google, not by us, and Google handles it under its own privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy
How Google uses data from apps that use its services: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
Consent (EEA, UK and Switzerland). If you are in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, the game shows Google's consent form before any ads are requested. Personalised ads are shown only if you agree. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time from the PRIVACY OPTIONS button in the game, which is shown wherever this choice applies. Refusing does not limit the game. You will still be offered rewarded ads, and they will be less personalised.
US state privacy laws. Where your state's law gives you the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for targeted advertising, you can do so from the same PRIVACY OPTIONS button, or with your device's ad settings below.
Your device controls. You can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of ad personalisation, in your Android settings: Settings → Google → Ads, or on newer Android versions Settings → Privacy → Ads. The exact path varies by device. The game keeps working normally either way.
Spaceship Craft sells four packs of in-game credits and a one-time Starter Bundle through Google Play. Purchases are optional. They are a shortcut, not a key: the forge's endgame materials and massive modules can only be earned by playing.
Google Play processes every payment. We never receive or see your payment details: no card number, no billing address, no name. Google tells the app only which item was bought and gives it a purchase token. The game adds the credits (and, for the Starter Bundle, its Founder paint) to your save, and keeps the purchase token in the game's storage on your phone, so that a purchase is never credited twice. The token never leaves your phone except as part of Google Play's own purchase check.
Purchase records are held by Google under its privacy policy. Refunds are handled through Google Play. Credits you bought live in your save on your phone, so read the note on uninstalling above.
Google Play may share anonymous, aggregated crash and performance statistics with us ("Android vitals"). This applies only to devices where the owner has enabled "Usage & diagnostics" sharing with Google. These statistics do not identify you, and we use them only to fix crashes.
Spaceship Craft is not directed at children under 13. Its Google Play target audience is 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the game, contact us and we will act promptly.
We do not sell, rent or share your data, because we do not have any. The only collection and sharing are Google's, described above, for advertising and payments.
Under the GDPR, the UK GDPR and the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection, you have the right to access, correct and delete your personal data and to object to its use. We hold no personal data about you, so there is nothing on our side to access or delete. Your save is on your phone, and you can delete it by uninstalling the game or clearing its data. Google controls the advertising and payment data described above. You can manage it at myadcenter.google.com and myaccount.google.com, or contact us and we will help you reach Google.
You also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.
The data Google's components collect is encrypted in transit. Your save stays in the game's private storage on your phone, protected by Android's app sandbox and your device's lock screen.
If Spaceship Craft ever adds online features, such as the multiplayer now in development, we will update this policy before those features ship. We will also update the date at the top of this policy and note material changes in the app's release notes.
